The Adult Spelling Bee returns on Saturday, August 3rd, 4–7 PM!
The DWCC's Annual Adult Team Spelling Bee is whizzing right up. Our 'Back to School' themed Bee will take place on Saturday, August 3rd at The Brookford Community Center 4–7 PM. Teams of 4 will compete in front of a live audience to see who are the best spellers.
Please use ActBlue to purchase your tickets if possible.
There are TWO ticket types (or you can just make a contribution):
Admission for Audience Member(s): This ticket is for those who are NOT on a spelling team. $10.00 (These tickets for audience members can be purchased at the door as well.)
Team Member(s): This ticket is for team members. Pay for one or all 4 using this ticket type. $25.00 per team member. Deadline for signing up as a team member: July 27th.
If you are purchasing more than one ticket, please list the names of these members when prompted after purchase.

Get your teams of 4 Spellers ($100/team) registered through ActBlue, pick an appropriately clever name and come up with a costume design (this event used to be held near Halloween and it really adds to the fun). Spectators may purchase $10 tickets via ActBlue OR pay at the door. Don't bumble your chance to take part in this not-to-bee-missed event!
As a back-to-school tie-in, we will be accepting donations of school supplies which will be given to the school supplies drive at the Back to School Bash sponsored by the Hickory Parks and Recreation Dept.
So get out of your hive and bee active in your community by taking part in this honey of an event! Join the Dem Women's swarm as we waggle, stretch our wings for the good of the colony, sip nectar and extract stinging good fun together.
We will have food and drink fit for a Queen! If any worker bees are interested in contributing dishes or liquid refreshment, we would bee ever-so appreciative.
